Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which QuickSafety Pty Ltd (“we”, “us” and “our”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the www.quicksafety.com.au website (“Site”) or mobile platforms . This privacy policy applies to the Site and mobile platforms and all products and services offered by QuickSafety Pty Ltd.

The words “Australian Privacy Principles”, “personal information” and “sensitive information” have the same meaning as under the Privacy Act.

Personal information

We may collect personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Site or mobile platforms, register on the Site or mobile platforms, place an order, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site or mobile platforms. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, their full name, email address, residential or business mailing address, phone number, credit card information, and employment details, including employer/employee details, workers numbers and electrical license numbers. We will collect personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, however, refusing to provide personal information may prevent Users from engaging in certain Site or mobile platform related activities.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site or mobile platforms. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about each User’s means of connecting to our Site or mobile platforms, such as each User’s operating system and the Internet service provider that are utilised and other similar information.

Web browser cookies

Our Site or mobile platforms may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert Users when cookies are being sent. If Users elect to refuse cookies, we note that some parts of the Site or mobile platforms may not function properly.

How we use information collected

QuickSafety Pty Ltd may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

  1. to provide our services to Users ;
  2. to grant Users full access to use the Site or mobile platform;
  3. to process and give effect to orders placed by Users;
  4. to process payments and provide services;
  5. for internal administrative purposes;
  6. to collect statistical data for reporting and marketing research;
  7. to send periodic emails. This means that we may use User’s email addresses to send Users information and updates pertaining to their order. Email addresses may also be used to respond to a Users’ inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. Users may receive emails that may include company news, updates and other information relating to our products and services. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.

We will not sell, trade, rent or disclose Users personal information to any person except to our business partners, trusted affiliates and agents used by us in the ordinary course of our business, for example, for IT services, data analysis, research, advertising or consultancy services, or as otherwise required by law. In doing so, we will take all steps as are reasonable to ensure that these parties respect and uphold the provisions of this Privacy Policy in relation to Users personal information.

Before any personal information is disclosed to a recipient in a foreign country, the Privacy Act requires us to take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that the recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to the information. However, if you consent to the disclosure of your personal information to overseas recipients, we are not required to take such steps.

By submitting your personal information to us, you expressly consent to the disclosure, transfer, storage or processing of your personal information outside of Australia. In providing this consent, you understand and acknowledge that countries outside Australia may not have the same privacy protection obligations as Australia in relation to personal information.

You have the option of not identifying yourself, or of using a pseudonym, when dealing with us provided it is lawful and practical to do so.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site or mobile platforms.

Sensitive information and data exchanged between the Site or mobile platforms and its Users happens over a Secure Socket Layer (“SSL”) secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures. We will destroy or de-identify personal information after five years (or seven years if the personal information is collected in New Zealand), or alternatively, when our legal obligations to retain the information have expired and the information is no longer needed by us.

Accessing your personal information

Users may request access to their personal information by writing to our Privacy Officer at the address below. Users are not required to provide a reason for requesting access. Except in circumstances established under law, if we hold personal information that Users are entitled to access, we will endeavour to provide Users with a suitable range of choices as to how they may access that information (e.g. by way of mail or collection).

If Users believe that their personal information held by us is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, Users may ask us to amend it. We will consider each request and if we agree that the information we hold is inaccurate, we will amend it, or alternatively, if we do not agree, then we will add a note to the personal information stating that the User disagrees with its accuracy.

Third party website or mobile platforms

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site or mobile platforms that link to the site or mobile platforms and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these site or mobile platforms and are not responsible for the practices employed by website or mobile platforms linked to or from our Site or mobile platforms. In addition, these site or mobile platforms or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These site or mobile platforms and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website or mobile platforms, including website or mobile platforms which have a link to our Site or mobile platforms, is subject to that website or mobile platform’s own terms and policies.

Changes to this privacy policy

QuickSafety Pty Ltd has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using this Site or mobile platforms and by accepting the Terms and Conditions of using this Site or the mobile platform, you accept the terms of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site or mobile platforms. Your continued use of the Site or mobile platforms following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Data breaches

If we suspect that a data breach has occurred, we will undertake an assessment into the circumstances of the suspected breach within 30 days after the suspected breach has occurred.

Where it is ascertained that a breach has actually occurred and where required by law, we will notify the Privacy Commissioner and affected customers as soon as practicable after becoming aware that a data breach has occurred.
